The Coaching Hub – Concept and Objectives
The coaching process helps clients gain objectivity and clarity around issues they may be struggling with, improvements they are trying to make in their professional life, skills they are trying to develop in order to be more effective and attitudes they are trying to change to help them grow as a person and as a professional.
Coaching can be regarded as a form of lower-depth counselling that focuses on work-related skills and issues. It offers the personalized quality of the counselling relationship while dealing with skill-related issues in a deeper way than would be possible in a group setting. It is of particular value for managers and leaders who want greater insight about their personality, characteristics that help or hinder effective leadership. Coaching helps to find valuable and effective ways of enhancing performance with people. The following are some of the issues that are often dealt with during coaching sessions:
- Skills in leading, motivating and empowering people
- Understanding oneself, assessing personal strengths and areas for development
- Understanding the difference between management and leadership
- Dealing with conflict and challenging situations
- Communicating positively
- Building healthy working relationships
- Maintaining work/life balance
- Mastering negative emotions and emotional reactions
- Learning assertiveness techniques
- Problem solving and decision making
- Addressing social and emotional problems of staff
- Managing time and prioritizing
- Delegating effectively
- Planning & implementing skills
- Organising & controlling
- Strategic thinking and planning
The Coaching Hub’s Executive Coaching provides one to one support to top-level leaders in an organisation on the principle that positive changes can be leveraged to filter down and enhance the entire organisation. This is especially important when such leaders grow into a high level leadership position as a result of their diligence and technical excellence and not necessarily their ability to lead people towards the future growth and success of the business. Executive coaching therefore focuses on higher order strategic leadership competencies aimed at retaining the company’s best people as well as formulating and implementing effective business strategies that enable the business to grow and thrive.
Coach Training Programme
The Coaching Hub also offers tailor made coaching skills training programmes for your organisation so that selected individuals may be able to coach other people within the team or the company. This is a great way to create a culture of support, promote self-sufficiency and less reliance on external coaches and ensure that talent and knowledge is cascaded throughout the organisation. We also offer the necessary consultancy and support in setting up a coaching programme in your organisation. This includes the formulation of the coaching policy, organising the structure of the coaching programme, preparing coachees so that they can maximise the benefit they derive from the programme and selecting the people who have the right aptitude and disposition to become in-house coaches.
